La Tortilla Factory Turns 35!

This August marks our 35^th anniversary!

In 1977 Jose and Mary Tamayo, along with their five sons started out in Sonoma County with a $75,000 SBA loan, $25,000 of their own money and a dream. Thirty-five years later our family-owned company continues to grow!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What began as a small Mexicantessen has grown into a state of the art facility with over 300 employees who produce more than a million tortillas a day to be shipped nationwide.

Jose and Mary were true pioneers in their day and that spirit has always been present at La Tortilla Factory. From creating delicious traditional tortillas of the highest quality to the first-of-its-kind Low Carb High Fiber Tortillas in 1996, to this year’s launch of our Soft Wrap Minis – it’s been a great journey.
